The fresh air is overrated

I grew up living in the country, but now I live in the city. Not just a town, but a full on major city, one of the biggest in the state. And I love it! People tell me all the time they want to move out to the country, and it makes me laugh. There are so many amazing things to do and to see in the city, so many people to meet, why would anyone want to move away from all this and go out to the middle of dirt farming nowhere? It takes all kinds I guess. One thing I hear a lot is the fresh air of the country, as if natural ventilation is the world’s only important thing. Yes, it is true, there is a lot of fresh out there, but I have a magical machine called a central HVAC system that is basically the same thing as fresh air! This device pulls in the air, cools it, runs it through a series of air filters, dehumidifies it, and then re-circulates it into my apartment. My indoor air quality is high, my place always smells good, and I don’t have to worry about large temperature swings like I do out in the country. Where I grew up we could be sweating all day, then freezing all night, but with my climate control system I am now always completely regulated. So yeah, everyone can keep all the fresh air they want, because I have an air conditioner that does all that work for me, and lets me live close to a vibrant nightlife.
